LSU Tigers Party -6yr- Tiger Theme T-shirts

LSU Tigers Birthday Party: 

For my daughter's 6th birthday, she decided she wanted an LSU tigers themed birthday party. (tough for mom who had only planned princess and girlie themed parties). 

I rented out the local skating rink (winter birthday) on a Saturday morning and served pizza, Icees and stuff from the snack bar.  I made her an LSU cheerleader outfit and all invitees were asked to dress in their favorite team apparel (they all came in LSU stuff as LSU is king in Louisiana).

We had the rink DJ play a variety of music, (kids favorites like High School Musical, Hannah Montana, line dance songs like Cupid Shuffle, including the LSU fight song).  I had my teenage sitter who is a cheerleader gather up her friends and they wore purple shorts with LSU t-shirts and did cheers. We had one station for face painting and tattoos that included tigers and LSU tattoos that I bought at local sporting goods store.

I had a cake made of an LSU cheerleader at a local bakery (Julie Ann's in Shreveport, LA) and they even made her brown with black curly hair like my daughter.

I made the invitations using white cardstock paper and found tiger face online. I used computer to do washout effect of tiger face and printed: This is a party you just can't skip, its skating and fun then some may even flip"! We'll jump shake and stir up a cheer. The occasion: Chloe's 6th birthday and LSU's great year!

I made party favors with inexpensive white t-shirts I bought online and made iron-ons for them using transfer paper I got at office supply store. I used the same tiger that I had on the invitations and I put the words:   Geaux Tigers!   Across the bottom of the iron on design. 

The kids had a great time supporting their favorite team and this idea would work for any team. All the boys in her class wore their t-shirts to school the next Monday."
